The EVE API is an XML interface to the universe of New Eden. With the API, you can access information that you would otherwise be required to dive into the game to get. This information can be used in your own projects to do all sorts of things. Your imagination is the limit.

This documentation is going to be fairly technical. If you don't know what XML is, how to POST via HTTP, and how to read a specification, then writing for the API might not be for you. With that out of the way...

Table of Contents

If you are new to the API, you should read these, top to bottom:

Once you have a grasp on how things work, you can try dive in:

  • API Pages - the actual meat, what data is available!

If you want some code samples, try this:

There are other bits of information that are situationally useful and are listed here for reference. You can read them if you want, but they will be linked from other pages as necessary.

As of this writing, forward development on the EVE API has ceased until CCP has found someone to continue working on the project. Bugs and problems will be addressed. If you do find a bug, please report it using the standard bug reporting utility:

If you are looking for a place to hang out, you can find people who are involved with using the API in the #eve-dev IRC channel on the Coldfront IRC Network (try irc.coldfront.net).
